OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Emily Lane scored from a scramble early in the game and Sacopee Valley made it stand up Tuesday for a 1-0 victory against Old Orchard Beach in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl soccer game.

Gillian Foss made eight saves for Old Orchard (1-3). Courtney Ross handled 10 shots for the Hawks (3-0).

 

YARMOUTH 7, WELLS 0: Danielle Torres had three goals and two assists, and Devin Simsarian scored twice to lead the Clippers (4-0) past the Warriors (0-4) at Yarmouth.

Olivia Conrad added a goal and two assists, and Tess Merrill also scored.

Kaitlyn Tufts made 17 saves for Wells.

FREEPORT 3, LAKE REGION 1: Jess Hench scored with 2.8 seconds left in the first half and the Falcons (4-1) held off the Lakers (1-3) at Freeport.

Katee Poulin and Alex Mitch made it 3-0 in the second half. Rachel Wandishin scored for Lake Region with 14:35 remaining.

 

YORK 7, POLAND 0: Emily Mitchell had two goals and an assist, and Kayla Swasey also scored twice as the Wildcats (3-0) rolled past the Knights (2-3) at York.

Stephanie Gallagher, Nikki Taylor and Ruby Cribby added goals.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Maggie Chaplin scored two goals, including the winner with under five minutes to play, as Gray-New Glouceter (1-2) edged the Raiders (0-3) at Fryeburg.

Julia Ritter and Taylor Darnell also scored for the Patriots. Carla Tripp had two goals for Fryeburg.

FIELD HOCKEY

BELFAST 3, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 0: Ashland Hall had two goals and an assist as the Tigers (2-2) shut out Hampden Academy (1-2) at Belfast.

The victory was the 400th for Coach Allen Holmes and the Belfast program, now 400-157-36 since it was formed in 1973.

PORTLAND 4, BONNY EAGLE 3: Leanne Reichert scored with 24 seconds left in the second overtime as the Bulldogs (2-2) beat Bonny Eagle (3-1) at Portland.

Nicole DiMidio scored twice and Peyton Dostie once for the Scots. Raechel Allen scored twice and Natalie Anderson once for Portland in regulation. Allen scored the tying goal on a 60-yard breakaway with 3:45 left in the second half.

 

MASSABESIC 1, GORHAM 0: Logan Provencher scored out of a scramble with 5:59 left as Massabesic (2-2) stopped the Rams at Gorham (1-3).

Karissa McCoy assisted on the goal.

MCAULEY 1, DEERING 0: Michele Girard scored off a penalty corner at 10:34 as McAuley (2-2) nipped visiting Deering (0-4) at Portland.

Katie Dubois and Sara Mercier assisted, and Jamie Lacasse knocked away five shots for the Lions.

 

MT. ARARAT 1, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Amber Bowley scored on a penalty corner at 11:18 of the first half as Mt. Ararat (3-2) got by Edward Little (3-2) at Topsham.

SCARBOROUGH 7, WINDHAM 0: Kristen Felts scored two first-half goals to lead the Red Storm (3-0) over Windham (0-3) at Scarborough.

Kelsey Howard, Chelsey Michaud, Grace Whelan, Karli-An Gilbert and Lauren Sullivan also scored, and Shannon Hicks and Rebecca Mitchell made one save each in the shutout.

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: The Rams swept Cape Elizabeth 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 at Gorham. Leah Keene earned 13 points with her service, including nine aces on 18 attempts.

Vicki Parker provided 14 points, including seven aces on 17 serves.

 

KENNEBUNK 3, CONY 2: Kennebunk rallied to defeat the Rams 25-15, 24-26, 18-25, 25-19, 15-11 at Augusta.
