MADISON – Zach White scored two touchdowns Friday night to lead Madison to a 26-24 victory against Freeport in a Western Class C high school football game.

Matt Sucy caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Stephen Cusson with under a minute to play in the first half to give Madison (1-2) a 20-6 lead, but Freeport (1-2) returned the kickoff for a score.

White scored on runs of 6 and 30 yards in the first half. Travis Emerson added a 60-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs, who never trailed.

 

DIRIGO 48, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Ben Holmes rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another for Dirigo (2-1), which grabbed a 28-0 halftime lead and went on to down the Seagulls (0-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

Justin Dowland also rushed for a first-half touchdown.

In the second half, Jake Dowland recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Brett Whitmore rushed for two touchdowns.

 

ROCKLAND 36, MT. VIEW 6: Dan Hendrix caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers (2-1) against the Mustangs (1-2) at Rockland.

Derek Miller ran for 84 yards on 23 carries for Rockland, which ran for 126 yards on 45 carries. Jared Meklin scored two touchdowns, one on a 2-yard run and another on a fumble recovery.

Erick Nealley had two catches for 54 yards and a touchdown for Mt. View.

WINTHROP 55, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Ryan Conant ran for three touchdowns in the first quarter and the Ramblers (3-0) cruised past Sacopee Valley (0-3) at Winthrop.

Conant scored on runs of 40, 32 and 26 yards. Dan Moody, Zach Glazier and Mike Geischwin added TD runs in the second quarter, and Glazier ran for a pair of scores in the third.

 

OAK HILL 41, JAY 7: Josh Allen rushed for four touchdowns as Oak Hill (1-2) handled the Tigers (2-1) at Jay.

“I thought all along we needed to be more physical and we needed to run at people,” Oak Hill Coach Dave Wing said. “And I think we did a good job of that.”

Oak Hill had three running backs top 100 yards — Allen (193), Cody DePuy (105) and Joel Wells (104).

MT. DESERT ISLAND 27, NOKOMIS 26: Nokomis (0-3) had two touchdowns called back on penalties and fumbled the ball away inside the 5 in the fourth quarter, allowing the Trojans (2-1) to score the winning touchdown at Bar Harbor.

 

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 35, WINSLOW 28: Josh McKechnie scored from the 1 with 51.9 seconds to play as the Broncos (2-1) beat Winslow (0-3) at Hampden.

The score was set up when Logan Steward recovered a blocked field goal at the Winslow 1.
