RAYMOND — A fire that broke out earlier tonight in a Raymond seafood market has been brought under control.

A dispatcher for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said smoke was pouring through the roof of Barney’s Seafood Market, 1261 Roosevelt Trail, when firefighters arrived around 6:30 p.m.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department were brought in to direct traffic around the fire scene, which is located on a busy highway. Roosevelt Trail is also known as Route 302.

The extent of damage and cause of the fire are not known at this time. Crews from Raymond, Windham and Casco responded.
