PORTLAND — Fazal Nabi scored with 1:30 remaining to lift Portland to a 2-1 victory over Sanford in an SMAA boys’ soccer game Tuesday.

Nabi took Brett O’Kelly’s lob over the top, broke alone into the zone and broke a 1-1 tie.

The Bulldogs (4-1-1) led 2-1 at halftime, sandwiching goals by Paley Burlin and Tim Rovnak around one by Sanford’s Robbie Dudzisz. Eli Desrochers tied the match two minutes into the second half.

Cody McFarland made eight saves for the Redskins (2-4), and Barry Quinn had six stops for the Bulldogs.

 

MARSHWOOD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Tyler Hickey scored his second goal of the game with 10:51 left as the Hawks (5-1) rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit to beat the Red Riots (4-2) at South Portland.

After Hickey’s first goal, South Portland took a 2-1 lead on goals by Dan Grazewski and Nem Kaurin. Grazewski and Kaurin also assisted each other’s goal.

The Hawks tied it in the second half on a goal by TJ Osborn.

Marshwood keeper Jackson Towle and South Portland’s Shawn Shannon each had six saves.

 

CHEVERUS 4, NOBLE 2: Derek DeLuca and Griffin Miller each scored on first-half penalty kicks as the Stags (4-1-1) built a 3-0 lead and held off the Knights (1-5) at Portland.

Nick Melville also scored in the first half for Cheverus and Parker Doyon added a second-half goal to extend the lead to 4-1.

Brandon Vigneault and Sean Jackson scored one goal apiece for the Knights, and goalkeeper Steven Campbell made 15 saves.

 

GORHAM 2, DEERING 0: Connor Reagan scored after collecting Kyle Curley’s through ball to break a scoreless tie with 23 minutes to play, leading Gorham (5-1) over Deering (1-4-1) at Portland.

Drew Hopkins added the second goal, converting Kevin Lubelczyk’s assist with 15:09 to play.

Carter Bowers made three saves for Gorham. Jamie Gullbrand finished with four saves for Deering.

MASSABESIC 4, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Tyler Twombly scored three goals, including a penalty kick, to lead the Mustangs (1-5) over the Trojans (0-6) at Saco.

Jacob Pelchat added a goal for Massabesic.

Kyle Jandreau scored a goal for Thornton on an assist from Drew Landry.

 

SCARBOROUGH 2, WESTBROOK 0: Austin Wilcox scored unassisted in each half for the Red Storm (5-1) against the Blue Blazes (1-4-1) at Westbrook.

Peter Moore stopped four shots for the shutout.

Austin Watts and Austin Blake combined for seven saves for Westbrook.

 

NYA 11, A.R. GOULD 4: Matthew Michaud had three goals and Jackson Cohan-Smith chipped in two to lead the Panthers (2-2) over the Bears (1-1) at South Portland.

Ryan Rousseau, Harry Fast, Michael Ianno, Billy Ji, Van Jung and Noah Seely also scored for NYA.

Steven Lyons had two goals and Nate Myers and George Hopkins also scored for the Bears.

KENNEBUNK 1, BONNY EAGLE 1: After Ryan Jordan gave the Scots (3-1-2) a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, the Rams (4-1-1) got a tie on an own goal with 11:56 left in the second half.

John Burns made six saves for Kennebunk; Matt Willis made four for BE.

 

WINDHAM 8, BIDDEFORD 0: Brian Soucy scored three goals and Ben Shaw added two goals and two assists as the Eagles (4-1-1) defeated the Tigers (0-6) at Windham.

Robbie Lentine, Brandon Hodge and Nick Penna each scored one goal.

BUCKFIELD 3, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 2: Austin Dooley scored twice, including the winner on a direct kick from 30 yards, to lead the Bucks (3-3) past Greater Portland Christian (2-3) at Buckfield.

Anthony Simpson and Adam Simpson scored for the Lions.

Buckfield’s Kasey Robertson and Greater Portland Christian’s Sam Carlson each made nine saves.

 

BRUNSWICK 1, MORSE 0: Konnor Scarponi scored with 53 seconds left in the first half to lead the Dragons (5-0) past the Shipbuilders (3-2) at Bath.
