The Punkinfiddle festival at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm on Saturday made good on its promise to let visitors touch the past. The 8th annual event hosted by the Laudholm Trust encourages people to become involved in preservation of the reserve by helping them envision how the land looked and functioned when it was a working farm.

Area craftspeople demonstrated old-fashioned arts and local musicians played traditional tunes. Children played games their ancestors enjoyed and learned about farm life. And the splendid Indian summer weather helped bring a big turnout.
