SOUTH BERWICK — Fazal Nabi scored two goals to lift Portland to a 3-1 win over Marshwood in an SMAA boys’ soccer match Monday night.

Tim Rovnak also scored for Portland (10-1-1), which was ranked fifth in Western Class A.

TJ Osborne had a second-half goal for third-ranked Marshwood (8-3-1), and Jackson Towle made 18 saves.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

THORNTON ACADEMY 5, BIDDEFORD 0: The Trojans (9-2) got goals from five players in their win over the Tigers (2-9) at Biddeford.

Lauren Titus, Ashley Kane, Danielle Daigle, Liz Sawyer and Katelyn Pierson scored, and Sydney Proctor made three saves for the shutout.

Biddeford keepers Adrienne Bowie and Shayna Montpass combined for 14 saves.

 

NOBLE 1, MCAULEY 1: Hannah Cooke scored off a pass from Olivia Crozier in the second half as McAuley (5-3-3) earned a tie against Noble (4-6-1) at Portland.

Marissa McKenna gave Noble a 1-0 lead early in the second half.

Steph Needham made nine saves for Noble, and Molly Miller stopped 13 shots for McAuley.

SANFORD 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Allison Legere knocked in a pass from Natalie Dionne with 1:55 left in the second overtime to lift the Redskins (9-1-1) over the Hawks (4-6-1) at South Berwick.

Kellie Tobey earned the shutout with three saves. Tatum Schladenhauffen stopped nine shots for Marshwood.

 

CHEVERUS 6, PORTLAND 0: Britni Mikulanecz had two goals and an assist as the Stags (9-2-1) jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead and beat the Bulldogs (1-11) at Portland.

Abby Maker, Darby Rawcliffe, Deirdre Lambert and Meredith Willard also scored.

WINDHAM 3, MASSABESIC 0: Bebe Butts had a goal and an assist and Nikki Walton and Mackenzie Cummings also scored for the Eagles (6-4-2) against the visiting Mustangs (0-10-1).

Keisha Williams stopped five shots for the shutout. Taylor Kirker made 14 saves for Massabesic.

 

HALL-DALE 4, BOOTHBAY 2: Carylanne Wolfington scored four goals to lead the Bulldogs (7-4) to a win at Boothbay Harbor.

Kristy Fredette and Sara Price each had assists for Hall-Dale.

Abby McClellan scored both goals for Boothbay (1-9-1).

FIELD HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 8, NOBLE 0: Chelsey Michaud, Stephanie Felt and Lindsay Dobecki scored two goals apiece to lead the Red Storm (11-1) past the Knights (2-10-1) at North Berwick.

Grace Whelan and Ali Pelczar also scored.

 

SANFORD 3, PORTLAND 2: Jordan Brasier had two goals and Caroline L’Heureux also scored for the Redskins (7-6) against the visiting Bulldogs (5-8).

Ellen Taffere and Leanne Reichert scored for Portland.

MESSALONSKEE 5, MORSE 0: Ally Delisle scored two goals to lead the Eagles (12-2) past the Shipbuilders (0-14) at Bath.

Bri Warren, Abbey Stacey and Megan Pelletier also scored and Kylee Knight had two assists for Messalonskee, which got all its goals in the first half.

Jen Dolloff made 27 saves for the Shipbuilders.
