Scarborough police used shoe prints taken at a Thursday burglary on Spurwink Road to charge a Westbrook man today with the break-in.

Police pulled over a rented Toyota Corolla Thursday on Black Point Road and charged the driver, Wade Roma, 21, with driving with a suspended license and violating bail conditions and failure to give police his correct name.

Police say Roma has a history of burglary and was a suspect in the earlier break-in. Police matched Roma’s shoes to the prints taken at the scene. They got a search warrant for the car and found items stolen in the burglary in the trunk.

Roma was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
