YARMOUTH — Chris Knaub made three saves for his ninth shutout of the season, and Yarmouth scored three times in the second half to complete an unbeaten regular season with a 3-0 win over Greely in a Western Maine Conference boys’ soccer match Monday night.

Chandler Smith got his first varsity goal 13 minutes into the second half, Pau Careno Melero blasted a shot from the top of the 18 for a 2-0 lead, and Campbell Belisle Haley got the final goal, assisted by Melero.

Cotter Jackson and Luke Pierce each contributed an assist for Yarmouth (13-0-1), the top-ranked team in Western Class B.

Elijah Leverett and Jonah Normandeau combined for seven saves for Greely (6-7-1).

 

WINDHAM 3, SANFORD 0: Robbie Lentine headed home two goals as the Eagles (8-4-2) defeated the Redskins (5-8-1) at Windham.

Dakota Cummings scored the third goal for Windham. Ryan Littlefield had two assists.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, MCAULEY 0: Syndey Proctor set a school record by recording her ninth shutout of the season as the Golden Trojans (11-2) blanked the Lions (5-5-3) at Saco.

Thornton’s goals came from Danielle Daigle and Amanda Arnold. Proctor needed to make just two saves.

McAuley keeper Molly Miller stopped 10 shots.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3, RICHMOND 0: Jess Derepentigny scored in the first half, and Miranda Lessard and Haley Kaliher added second half goals as the Seagulls (7-5-1) handed the Bobcats (13-1) their first loss, at Old Orchard Beach.

Seagulls keeper Gillian Foss needed four saves for the shutout.

 

MORSE 3, MT. ARARAT 3: Tory Field of Morse and Haley Michaud of Mt. Ararat twice traded goals twice as the Shipbuilders (8-3-2) tied the Eagles (9-3-1) at Topsham.

Emily Howell’s goal gave Morse a 3-2 lead in the second half, but Celia Ouellette tied the game with six minutes remaining in regulation.

Morse keeper Emma Sealey had 10 saves, and Mt. Ararat’s Shauna Williams made eight saves.

BRUNSWICK 8, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Rachel Moroney scored three goals as the Dragons (13-0) routed the Red Eddies (5-8) at Brunswick.

Morgan Libby scored twice and had an assist. Cassandra Murano added a goal and assist, and Paige Tetu and Lyse Henshaw also scored.

 

POLAND 5, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Emma Turton and Emily Bolduc each scored twice to lead the Knights (5-7-1) over the Rangers (1-9) at Poland.

Steph Sirois added a goal for Poland, assisted by Bolduc. Lindsey Theriault had two assists, and Cassie Mocciola made six saves.

Carley O’Brien netted the lone goal for Traip.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 1, WELLS 0: Kara Singleton scored for the Hawks (12-1-1) against the Warriors (4-9-1) at South Hiram.

After Emily Lane sent a direct kick near the post from 45 yards, a scramble ensued and Singleton finished it. Amanda Cressey earned an assist.

Courtney Ross made seven saves for the win. Amanda Deshaies stopped 16 shots for Wells.
