BATH — The United Way of Mid Coast Maine, in collaboration with VolunteerMaine.org’s online database, has created The Fall 2010 Wish List, which lists opportunities for the public to make a positive impact in Mid-Coast community organizations.

The Fall 2010 Wish List is divided into two categories: requests for donations of specific items and requests for volunteers. New Ventures

Jason Dye of Portland has launched an innovative coupon website, Coupon Evolution. The website, www.couponevolution.com, features interactive coupons from local area businesses, and allows consumers to search for deals in Maine and New Hampshire. The website can be accessed from either a regular personal computer or any internet-capable mobile device. Consumers can redeem or share these digital coupons via email, text message or by printing a hard copy.

The Comfort Suites Hotel in Freeport has recently finished phase one of renovations, which includes redoing two floors with Thomasville Gallery furniture, carpets, wall coverings and built-in glass room partitions with separate areas.

Moody Lords recently held its grand opening at 578 Congress St., above Strange Maine. Formerly occupied by Time Lag Records, Moody Lords founders Madeline Leach, Andrew Chang, Adam Brokos, and Jake Millett will continue to offer a similar inventory of records, men’s and women’s vintage clothing, and used and vintage electronics. Moody Lords will also feature local vinyl from Nemo Bidstru of Time Lag Records and vintage clothing from Sonya Tomlinson of Hand-Me-Down Owl. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

The new Brunswick Tractor Supply Company store, at 24 Farley Road, recently opened for business. The store has 19,097 square feet, including a sales floor and support service space. A fenced exterior space offers a display area for items such as fencing, sprayers and livestock equipment. The store currently employs 15 full and part-time employees.

The Maine Center for Constitutional Studies has launched its streaming Internet radio station, WMCCS, providing round-the-clock broadcasting of educational and talk radio, as well as music. Founder Ken Capron also plans to implement a live speaker series and a film series. For more information, visit maineccs.org.

Commercial builders Great Falls Construction, based in Gorham, recently completed building the second of two new Johnny Rockets burger stands. The new Johnny Rockets locations include the Maine Mall food court in South Portland and in Freeport’s Village Station.

Portland’s Jade Trade Clinic has changed its name to Jade Integrated Health. The clinic, co-owned by John and Nancy Charlebois, will continue to provide rehabilitative services that incorporate acupuncture, physical therapy, massage therapy, traditional Chinese medicine and yoga at its Portland location at 218 Washington Ave. For more information, visit JadeIntegratedHealth.com.

Owners Larry and Lynette Platt have officially opened the doors for business at the Brunswick Market Basket, located in the newly renovated 1812 Skofield House next to the Pejepscot Historical Museum. The European style store offers a selection of freshly-made breads, desserts, sandwiches and entrees to go, along with a vast wine and beer selection.

Tidewater Wireless has merged with Tilson Technology Management. Tidewater Wireless founder Todd Lamoureaux will now serve as director of wireless and telecommunications for Tilson. TTM is a technology project and program management company specializing in managing large technology projects in IT and telecom utilities.

The Thrifty Kitty Thrift Store recently opened its doors on the second floor at 650 Forest Ave., Portland. All proceeds benefit Friends of Feral Felines. Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, please call 797-3014 or feralfelines.net.

South Portland / Cape Elizabeth Rotary President John LoBosco, on right, presented Rotary District Governor Ann Lee Hussey with a check for $2,000 to help in Rotary’s fight against polio. Since 1985, Rotary International has contributed over $900 million in the global polio eradication initiative. Ms. Hussey, a polio survivor who contracted polio as a child in Maine, has participated in 16 Rotary National Immunization Days, administering the polio vaccine in India and Nigeria.
