WISCASSET – Forrest Milburn scored midway through the first overtime Wednesday to give eighth-seeded North Yarmouth Academy a 1-0 victory against top-ranked and unbeaten Wiscasset in a Western Class C boys’ soccer quarterfinal.

Matt Michaud dribbled the ball up the left wing, beat a defender near the penalty box and sent the ball to Milburn, who drove the ball into the upper corner.

Jordan Haskell made six saves for NYA (8-5-1) against the Redskins (13-1-1).

 

YORK 3, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Liam Langass and Pierce Twohig each had a goal and an assist as the fourth-seeded Wildcats (9-5-1) handled the fifth-ranked Eagles (9-4-2) in a Western Class B quarterfinal at York.

Twohig set up Langass on the opening goal, then Langass assisted Cam Schilling.

Twohig scored the final goal unassisted.

Noah Rickerich and Nate Diffin combined on the shutout for York.

 

YARMOUTH 3, OAK HILL 0: Pau Melero had two goals as the top-ranked Clippers (14-0-1) defeated the eighth-seeded Raiders (7-7-1) in a Western Class B quarterfinal at Yarmouth.

In the second minute, Melero scored from the left corner of the 18-yard mark to the opposite corner of the net for the only goal of the first half, which was halted for 30 minutes due to lightning.

On his second goal early in the second half, Melero collected a header from Luke Pierce and won a one-on-one with Oak Hill keeper Tyler Pelletier, who made six saves.

Pierce got the last goal when he recovered the rebound of his header and slid it underneath Pelletier midway through the half.

Chris Knaub needed one save for his 10th shutout.

The Clippers held a 21-9 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge on corner kicks.

 

PRESQUE ISLE 4, MT. VIEW 0: The third-seeded Wildcats (13-1-1) scored twice in each half and defeated sixth-ranked Mt. View (7-6-2) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal at Presque Isle.
