TURNER – Jake Ouellette rushed for three touchdowns Friday night to lead top-ranked Leavitt to a 52-8 victory against eighth-seeded Morse in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal.

Ouellette rushed 10 times for 112 yards and three touchdowns.

Jordan Hersom added one touchdown rushing and one passing for Leavitt (9-0).

Dylan Moore and Zach Frost combined for 18 tackles and four sacks for the Hornets, who outgained Morse, 354-37. Frost also forced two fumbles, one recovered for a touchdown.

D’Vaughn Myers scored on a late 12-yard run for the Shipbuilders (2-7).

Leavitt will be at home against fifth-seeded Belfast in the semifinals.

BELFAST 50, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Lani Eversage rushed for 212 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the fifth-ranked Lions (5-4) past the fourth-seeded Windjammers (4-5) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal at Rockport. Dylan Webster added 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Belfast, which scored 36 points in the second after a scoreless first quarter.

 

LEWISTON 42, MESSALONSKEE 13: The fourth-seeded Blue Devils (7-2) scored on all four of their first-half possessions and rolled past fifth-ranked Messalonskee (5-4) in an Eastern Class A quarterfinal at Lewiston.

Lewiston will be at home against eighth-seeded Brunswick (6-3) in the semifinals.

Messalonskee trailed 28-7 at the half and never threatened.

“In the first half we just didn’t get it done,” said Keenan Knox, who rushed for a team-high 95 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries for Messalonskee.

Added Sam Dexter, who caught a touchdown pass and rushed for 67 yards on eight carries for the Eagles: “We gave it our all and we just came up short. They were tough to stop. They came out hungrier than us.”

 

GARDINER 43, MT. DESERT ISLAND 22: The third-seeded Tigers (7-2) found their defensive footing in the second half and pulled away from the sixth-ranked Trojans (4-5) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal at Gardiner.

Gardiner beat MDI 56-41 in the regular season, when Alonzo Connor set a school single-game rushing record with 346 yards. He ran for 230 yards and three touchdowns this time.

LAKE REGION 27, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Mike Shea rushed 17 times for 93 yards and scored two first-quarter touchdowns to lead the Lakers (3-6) past the Raiders (1-8) at Naples.

Ryan Skillern started the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Osmond. Lake Region led 20-0 after one quarter.

Zach Simmons added a touchdown run in the third for the Lakers, and had 13 tackles and a sack. Jamie Anderson made 12 tackles and forced two fumbles.
