SOUTH PORTLAND — South Portland voters approved a $47.3 million renovation project at South Portland High School 6,673 to 4,297.

Voters overwhelmingly rejected a $56 million proposal in 2007. School officials went back to the drawing board and came back with a trimmed down proposal, cutting out a second gym, artificial turf field and 29,000-square feet of space.
