South Portland Police Officer Rocco Navarro was treated for a concussion after his parked cruiser, with lights flashing, was rear-ended by a pick-up truck Monday, Nov. 1, shortly before 11 a.m. on the Casco Bay Bridge. The crash forced the Portland-bound lanes to be closed for several hours. Navarro was stopped behind a disabled car when his cruiser was struck from behind by David Zografos, 40, of South Portland, who according to police was talking on his cell phone when the crash occurred. Zografos, who was not injured, was issued a summons for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle. The cruiser was totalled.
