PORTLAND OVATIONS brings the cabaret-style spoof “Forbidden Broadway” to town. The show, which has been rewritten many times since its debut in the early 1980s, pokes fun at showtunes, characters and plots of contemporary Broadway hits.

Museum of Art harbors ‘Illusions’
THE PORTLAND MUSEUM OF ART’S latest exhibition is intended to fool the eye. “False Documents and Other Illusions” showcases 32 works offering a spectrum of approaches to illusion by 13 contemporary artists. Admission to the museum is free on Fridays after 5 p.m.
