AUGUSTA — Gov.-elect Paul LePage is planning to announce details of his transition team, which will draft the basic blueprint for forming his new administration.
On Friday, the first Republican governor to be elected in two decades is to name co-chairs of his transition team, and outline a process and time line for carrying out its work. Maine’s outgoing two-term Democratic Gov. John Baldacci is pledging his full cooperation to his successor-to-be.
At the same time Friday, the new Republican Senate majority will meet to elect its leaders for the upcoming 2011-12 session.
Republican candidates for so-called constitutional officers — state treasurer, secretary of state and attorney general — are also surfacing as the GOP finds itself in the position of filling those offices for the first time in decades.
