AUBURN – Kara Singleton scored two goals Wednesday as second-ranked Sacopee Valley shut out top-ranked St. Dominic 3-0 to win the Western Class C girls’ soccer title.

Singleton gave the Hawks (15-1-1) the lead with 27:25 left in the first half. She took a pass from Amber Day, dribbled inside the 18 and chipped the ball over goalie Mary Caron.

With 11:34 left, Singleton took the ball in alone and booted an 18-yard shot for a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Emily Lane took a pass from Mackenzie Ross 25 yards out, carried the ball in and sent it over the keeper to the opposite post.

Courtney Ross of Sacopee had 15 saves, including two game-changing saves in the first half. Caron also made 15 stops for the Saints (15-1-1).

BOYS’ SOCCER

ELLSWORTH 3, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Nick Holt had an assist and scored two goals including the game-winner with 2:44 left as top-ranked Ellsworth (17-0) downed second-seeded Camden Hills (15-1-1) in the Eastern Class B final at Ellsworth.
