“LEGEND” is an overused term, but it actually applies to Toots & The Maytals in the worlds of ska and reggae. The group began recording in Jamaica in the early 1960s, and is still going strong.

Gram Parsons night with movie, music

TONIGHT HAS BEEN designated Gram Parsons Night at SPACE in honor of the late rock star. Following a free 7:30 p.m. screening of the Parsons documentary film “Fallen Angel” will be a concert of Parsons’ tunes performed by Portland musicians at 9 p.m. The influential American musician died in 1973, but his music lives on.
