CAPE ELIZABETH — The School Board launched a community survey to gather feedback on the attributes residents want in a school superintendent.
The results will help the board when it screens applicants and develops interview questions.
Superintendent of Schools Alan Hawkins announced his retirement effective Dec. 31. Former Yarmouth Superintendent Ken Murphy has been named interim superintendent through the end of the school year. Hawkins will stay on as a consultant until April 15, 2011.
The online survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/s/VDM5GSP through Nov. 30. Paper copies are available at the School Department and Town Hall, 320 Ocean House Road; all three schools; Thomas Memorial Library and the Community Center.
