Chebeague Island Selectmen announced the appointment of Eric Dyer as the next town administrator, starting Jan. 2, 2011.

Dyer’s professional experience working on a Maine island, sense of community and flexibility are attributes the town felt made him a qualified candidate for the position. He previously served as an Island Institute Fellow for Cranberry Isles before taking on the role of facilities supervisor there. He has gained experience in grant writing, planning, transportation, affordable housing, waste management, public services, marine infrastructure, road management, and other ares unique to Maine island life.

This appointment comes as Scott Seaver, current town administrator, retires from the position. Seaver has served the town since 2008.
