PORTLAND — Portland’s new skatepark will open for skaters and bikers on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The opening day celebration, which starts at 10 a.m., will feature an open skate session as well as lessons.

Hardcore Shotcrete Skateparks Inc. built the park with features for both skateboarders and bikers at all skill levels. There is a skateable bench, a skate dish, steps, rails, rollers and a quarter pipe.

The $325,000 Portland Skatepark was funded with a combination of public and private dollars. The park is located off St. James Street adjacent to the Dougherty Field complex.

Music and refreshments will be provided for the grand opening, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, Nov. 21.
