BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Unionized nurses at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor have set the date for a one-day strike.
The strike is planned for Monday, Nov. 22.
The date for the strike was set at a Monday meeting. Union officials plan to notify hospital officials of their action on Wednesday.
The nurses voted for the strike after rejecting the hospital’s “last, best and final” contract offer from the hospital.
The three-year-contract between the 850-nurses and the medical center expired Sept. 30.
The Bangor Daily News says hospital officials are promising that any strike would not affect patient care.
