Portland Boxing Club welterweight Jason Quirk of Scarborough advanced to the semifinals of the New England championships Saturday night with a 5-0 decision over Neil Sullivan of Worcester, Mass.

Light welterweight Casey Kramlich of Auburn also advanced with a 5-0 decision over Scott Sullivan of New Bedford, Mass.

Middleweight Jeremy Witham, also of the Portland Boxing Club, lost a 5-0 decision to Gerald Shifone of Brockton, Mass.

Quirk and Kramlich will join nationally ranked featherweight Liz Leddy in the semifinals Saturday night at the Portland Boxing Club.

Also appearing from the PBC will be novice lightweight Lindsay Kyajohnian and newcomers sub-novice lightweight John Lopez and subnovice featherweight Christian Castenada.

The winners will advance to the Nov. 27 finals at the Stevens Avenue Armory in Portland.

Appearing at the finals will be former world heavyweight champion Buster Douglas.
