LEWISTON — The Public Theatre is producing an original musical adaptation of “The Three Little Pigs” for preschool children through fifth-graders. The play opens today and runs through Friday.

This little piggy likes Facebook. This little piggy likes shopping. This little piggy likes homework. Which little piggy will escape the big bad wolf and choose the strongest foundation for her life and home?

The play offers lessons about the dangers of choosing style over substance, and features three sassy pigs, two of whom enjoy shopping at Calvin Swine and going to Stybucks, and one little piggy who enjoys doing her homework and aspires to be an architect.

Janet Mitchko directs, and promises that the show “will leave you squealing with delight.”

“The Three Little Pigs” will be performed at 1 and 3 p.m. today, with additional weekday performances for schools, groups and individuals at 9:30 a.m. Monday to Friday. There’s an additional performance at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tickets cost $5 for children and $10 for adults. For information, visit www.thepublictheatre.org or call 782-3200.
