PARIS — An 8-year-old Maine boy is in a Portland hospital after he was run over by his father’s unoccupied pickup truck.
Neither the name of the boy or his condition have been released.
Paris Police Lt. Michael Daily said that at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday the boy was standing behind the truck after his father had taken it off a ramp. It’s not clear why the truck started to roll.
Daily says the boy was conscious when police arrived. The boy was first taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. He was then taken by helicopter to the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Daily tells the Sun Journal newspaper the incident has been ruled an accident.
