WESTBROOK — The Maine Coalition for Excellence in Education will recognize Westbrook public schools later today for their efforts to increase community involvement in honor of National Parent Involvement Day.
Each school in the district has a school council that includes a diverse group of community members who set high goals and help implement effective policies and programs to improve education.
Coalition members will be at Prides Corner School this afternoon to announce a campaign to promote similar efforts in all Maine schools in honor of National Parent Involvement Day.
The event coincides with the school’s regular parent-teacher conferences, which usually draw nearly 100 percent attendance.
