CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Snowmaking has begun at Maine’s tallest ski mountain as it prepares to open for the season.
After nearly two weeks of above-normal temperatures, Sugarloaf workers turned on the snowmaking guns today as temperatures fell into the 20s.
If the temperatures remain favorable as expected, Sugarloaf officials say they expect to open for the season on Sunday.
