PORTLAND — Spencer Cooke scored four touchdowns in the second half as Cheverus pulled away from Bangor to win the state Class A football championship today 46-8 at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Cooke scored on runs of 3, 42, 88 and 5 yards.

The Stags (12-0) added a final-minute TD on a 35-yard intercepetion return by Cameron Olsen.

Cheverus took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 27-yard field goal by Louis DiStasio. After Bangor (10-2) went ahead 8-3, the Stags took a 9-8 halftime lead on a 22-yard pass from Peter Gwilym to Jack Bushey.
