WESTBROOK — Three Standish men were arrested this morning after they allegedly broke into a home on Mill Lane and attempted to rob the homeowner.

The men broke down the door to the home, only to encounter the homeowner, who was armed with a shotgun.

The homeowner, whose name is being withheld by police, held 22-year-old Douglas Perez at gunpoint. Several Westbrook police officers converged on the scene and arrested two other men: 29-year-old David S. Solak and 21-year-old Andrew Gagne.

Solak was charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy, and criminal mischief; Perez was charged with burglary and criminal conspiracy; and Gagne was charged with criminal conspiracy.
