ROCKLAND — A Rockland man was arrested and charged with murder Saturday night in the death of his ex-girlfriend, according to Maine State Police.

Arnold Diana, 35, is accused in the death of 47-year-old Katrina Windred of Friendship. She was reported missing Sunday, the day after she visited Diana at his apartment. Her body was discovered Tuesday on Thompson Meadow Road, a dirt road on the outskirts of Rockland.

State police detectives charged Diana after he was interviewed at the Rockland police station. He was to be transported to the Knox County jail and will likely make his first court appearance Monday.

An autopsy was completed on Wednesday, but authorities have not released the cause of Windred’s death.
