LAWRENCE, Kan. – Despite a career-high 27 points from the University of Maine’s Tanna Ross, the Kansas women’s basketball program secured win No. 700 with a 126-63 victory Wednesday night.

Ross made 9 of 14 shots from the field, including seven 3-pointers. Ashleigh Roberts added eight points and six rebounds, and Amber Smith finished with seven points.

Krysten Boogaard scored 33 for the Jayhawks and Carolyne Davis added 25.

BATES 86, UM-FARMINGTON 56: Annie Burns scored 13 points with eight assists and six steals to lead the Bobcats (4-1) over the Beavers (0-4) at Lewiston.

Christine McCall and Meredith Kelly each added 12 points, and Lauren Dobish and Jessie Igoe finished with 10 apiece.

Kenni Norton had 12 points for the Beavers.

ST. JOSEPH’S 68, THOMAS 49: Megan McDevitt and Allie Parent each scored 13 points as the Monks (2-3) defeated the Terriers (1-2) at Waterville.

Abby Young added 10 points and Mackenzie Dufour and Casey Drake each scored eight. Dufour had nine assists.

Karin Bird had 13 points and Ashley Allen 10 points for Thomas.

COLBY 72, MAINE MARITIME 53: Jules Kowalski, Rachael Mack and Diana Manduca each scored 14 points as the White Mules (4-0) handled the Mariners (2-2) at Castine.

Brittany Hunt and Casey Everest each had 11 points for the Mariners.

(2) BAYLOR 76, (16) NOTRE DAME 65: Brooklyn Pope had 20 points with 14 rebounds as Baylor (8-1) built a big lead and held off Notre Dame (5-3) at Waco, Texas.

Pope made a layup with 11:18 left that gave Baylor its largest lead at 56-37.

(9) TENNESSEE 99, LAMAR 55: Meighan Simmons scored 28 points and set a Tennessee record with eight 3-pointers as the Volunteers (7-1) beat Lamar (5-2) at Knoxville, Tenn.

(11) OKLAHOMA 94, SAMHOUSTON STATE 45: Morgan Hook scored 25 points and set a school freshman record with seven 3-pointers, leading Oklahoma (7-0) over Sam Houston State (5-3) at Norman, Okla.

(12) GEORGETOWN 65, RICHMOND 64: Sugar Rodgers banked in a jumper with 1:05 remaining to break a tie and Georgetown (6-1) rallied past Richmond (4-4) at Washington.

(25) MICHIGAN STATE 72, (15) FLORIDA STATE 64: Kalisha Keane scored 20 of her 22 points in the second half as Michigan State (6-1) rallied past Florida State (6-1) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Tallahassee, Fla.

HUSSON 81, ST. JOSEPH’S 78: Josh Jones scored 25 points and Mark Zaharchuk added 20 for the Eagles (3-1) against the Monks (3-1) at Bangor.

Zach O’Brien led the Monks with 20 points; Chris Petzy chipped in 15 and Tyler Kelley had 12.

Anthony Savino (10 points) hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to pull the Monks to within 80-78. After Eric Modica hit 1 of 2 from the line for Husson, Tyler Kelley’s long 3-pointer bounced off the rim.

(1) DUKE 84, (6) MICHIGAN STATE 79: Freshman Kyrie Irving scored 31 points and Duke (7-0) beat Michigan State (5-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Durham, N.C.

The Blue Devils used a 12-2 spurt midway through the second half to take a double-figure lead and held off the Spartans by hitting 9 of 12 free throws in the final 1:15.

(3) PITTSBURGH 80, DUQUESNE 66: Ashton Gibbs scored 22 points, Gary McGhee added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Pittsburgh (8-0) beat city rival Duquesne (3-2).

(14) MEMPHIS 78, ARKANSAS STATE 71: Will Barton scored 20 points and Memphis (6-0) survived a scare with an overtime victory over visiting Arkansas State (1-6).

CENTRAL FLORIDA 57, (18) FLORIDA 54: Marcus Jordan scored 18 points, Keith Clanton hit two free throws in the final seconds and Central Florida (6-0) upset Florida (5-2) at Orlando, Fla.

(19) TEXAS 76, LAMAR 55: Freshman Cory Joseph had 16 points and nine rebounds and Texas (6-1) beat visiting Lamar (4-3).

(21) BYU 77, CREIGHTON 65: Brandon Davies scored 24 points to lead BYU (7-0) over Creighton (4-3) at Omaha, Neb.
