ROCHESTER, N.H. – Nicci Heroux scored twice Saturday to lead York to a 2-1 victory against Falmouth in a schoolgirl hockey game.
Heroux scored a power-play goal 7:48 into the second period for the Wildcats (4-0), assisted by Tori Stocks and Caroline Hird. She broke a 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal with 6:07 remaining.
Mary Woolsey scored from Abby Payson 1:56 into the third period for Falmouth (1-2).
Olivia Drew made six saves for the win. Jen Greene stopped 26 shots for Falmouth.
EDWARD LITTLE/LEAVITT 11, YARMOUTH 0: Taylor Landry scored four goals, and Shelbea Russell had three goals and an assist to lead Edward Little/Leavitt (2-0) past Yarmouth (0-4) at Auburn.
Molly Gallup added two goals and an assist.
Brianna Stanley made 10 saves for the shutout.
CHEVERUS 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Sarah LaQuerre had a hat trick to lead the Stags (2-0) over the Tigers (1-2) at Portland.
Katie Roy added two goals for Cheverus, which scored three times in a one-minute span early in the second period.
LEWISTON 3, PORTLAND 3: Raechel Allen scored three goals, including two in the final 2:15, to help the Bulldogs (0-1-1) come away with a tie against the Blue Devils (1-1-1) at Portland.
After Allen scored midway through the first period, Lewiston answered with goals by Mikaela St. Laurent and Natalie Rousseau in the last 5:06 of the period.
Sara Marden gave the Blue Devils a 3-1 lead at 4:26 of the third.
PREP GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
HYDE 41, HEBRON ACADEMY 38: Dexie Cercos made a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Phoenix beat Hebron in the Aleigh Mills memorial tournament at Kents Hill.
Sage Harris, the tournament MVP, scored 21 points, and Laflin Bragg added eight points and 11 rebounds for Hyde.
PREP BOYS’ BASKETBALL
HYDE, CONN. 48, HYDE, MAINE 46: Jonah Alexander scored 19 points for Hyde School of Bath at home.
