FREEPORT — Buck’s Naked BBQ will host its first benefit Buffalo wing-eating competition on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. to support programs at Freeport Community Services.

“It’s been a tough year and we want to hang our hat on a local group that helps our neighbors who are struggling,” co-owner Wendy Caisse said. “There is so much need right here, it makes sense to keep the money in our community, support those in need and have some fun along the way.”

Almost a dozen people have already signed up. The entry fee is $15 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the FCS general fund.

Participants will have two minutes to eat two pounds of hickory-smoked wings, Caisse said. The winner will receive two lift tickets to Saddleback Mountain and the second and third place winners will receive gift certificates from Sebago Brewing Co. and Buck’s.
