HARTFORD, Conn.- Connecticut has been kicked off a regional tourism group’s promotional map of New England after the state couldn’t pay the group’s annual dues.

Discover New England’s executive director, Sue Norrington-Davies, said the group promoted Connecticut for free for six months.

But she said the board decided early this year to stop after Connecticut eliminated its budget for tourism marketing and couldn’t pay the $100,000 in annual dues.

Now, Connecticut is just a white spot on a map on Discover New England’s website and there’s no link to state attractions.
