PORTLAND – Jackie Doyle hit a 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining as Falmouth overcame a late deficit to remain unbeaten with a 42-41 victory over Waynflete in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl basketball game Thursday night.

The Flyers (2-1) trailed by six points at halftime, then rallied to lead 41-35 with 1:25 remaining before the Yachtsmen (3-0) got consecutive steals and layups by Jenna Serunian and Jess DiPhilippo.

Serunian and DiPhilippo led Falmouth with 13 points apiece.

Lydia Stegemann paced the Flyers with 15 points. Martha Veroneau scored 12 points and had eight assists and six steals, and Rhiannan Jackson had all of her 10 points in the second half.

LAKE REGION 48, CAPE ELIZABETH 20: Freshman Tiana Carter had 12 points, 19 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead the Lakers (2-1) over the Capers (2-1) at Naples.

Sydney Hancock added eight points and Hannah Cutting had 13 rebounds for the Lakers.

Kayla Raftice scored eight points for the Capers.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 53, YARMOUTH 27: Kendra Fox scored 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Raiders (1-1) over the Clippers (1-1) at Fryeburg.

Maggie McConkey and Skye Dole each added 13 points for the Raiders.

GREELY 51, POLAND 31: Caroline Hamilton scored 15 points and the visiting Rangers (3-0) used rallies in the first and third quarters to beat the Knights (0-3).

Hamilton scored 10 in the first quarter during a 17-2 run, and Megan Coale made two 3-pointers to start a 19-6 surge in the third. Coale finished with 11 points.

Emily Bolduc scored 16 points with five rebounds and five steals for Poland.

YORK 62, FREEPORT 14: Nicole Taylor scored 23 points as the Wildcats (3-0) routed the Falcons (0-3) at Freeport.

Morgan Brown scored six points for Freeport.

LISBON 59, TELSTAR 27: Alexa Harmon sank four 3-pointers and scored 19 points to pace the Greyhounds (2-1) past the Rebels (0-3) at Lisbon Falls.

Jessica Campbell added 11 points for Lisbon. Emma Davis had 10 points for Telstar.

HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 3, FALMOUTH 0: Abby Rutt had a goal and two assists to lead the Red Storm (4-1-1) past the Yachtsmen (1-5) at Falmouth.

Devan Kane earned the shutout with 15 saves, and Jen Greene made 22 saves for Falmouth.
