PORTLAND — City Manager Joseph Gray, Jr. is expected to announce his retirement at a press conference today. This decision comes after serving the city for 10 years in this capacity.

Gray started working with the city as city planner for the Model Cities Program in 1969. Throughout his career, he has served as project director the Model Cities Program, deputy director of the Portland Renewal Authority and director of the Department of Planning and Urban Development.

The press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. today in the State of Maine Room in CIty Hall.
