SOUTH PORTLAND — The Maine Association of Realtors says home sales fell 24 percent in November from a year ago, but the median sale price rose nearly 4 percent.

The organization said today that real estate agents sold 781 existing single-family homes for the month, down from 1,025 in November 2009. The median sale price was $170,000, up from $164,000.

For the three-month period from September through November, the number of homes sold in Maine was down 25 percent from the same period last year. Home sales fell in 13 of Maine’s 16 counties during those months.
