SACO —State and Saco Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Thursday night, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Authorities received a call around 12:30 a.m. today from Pamela Young, 48, requesting an ambulance for her roommate Dale Berube, McCausland said.
When Saco rescue and police crews arrived at the apartment on Thornton Avenue, Berube, 50, was found in his bathtub with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Maine Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery, McCausland said. His condition at this time is unknown.
Young was questioned by authorities and released. McCausland said authorities are still trying to sort out the details regarding what happened last night and the incident is still under investigation.
