Westbrook and Portland declared parking bans today as crews labored to remove the snow that continued falling through the afternoon.

Westrook’s parking ban covers the entire city and begins at 11 p.m., running through 7 a.m. Tuesday. Cars parked on the street may be ticketed and towed, police said.

Portland declared a yellow zone parking ban beginning at 10 p.m. and ending Tuesday at 6 a.m.

Any vehicles left on the street within the yellow zone will be towed. The ban is intended to allow city crews to remove snow.

City and school parking lots designated for parking ban parking will be open all day today, city officials said. The lots are free and vehicles must be removed from them by 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The yellow zone is the area bounded by Commercial Street, Franklin Arterial, Cumberland Avenue and State Street.
