The Town of Old Orchard Beach is searching for a new director of planning and development.

Gary Lamb had held this position for the past three years. He left the position about a month ago to accept a position as town manager in Greenville, Assistant Town Manager Louise Reid said. She said the town was waiting until after the holidays to post the position.

The director of planning and development plays a key role in shaping the future of Old Orchard Beach. Candidates must have at least five years experience and be able to coordinate the town’s current long-range planning functions. Reid said the town is especially interested in someone with previous economic development experience in addition to town planning.

Applications will be accepted through Jan. 14. A complete job description is posted on the town’s website.
