Indoor track powerhouses Falmouth and Greely got their first look at each other Friday night at the University of Southern Maine and essentially settled for a split in the first of three regular season encounters.

The Yachtsmen won the boys’ meet with 215 points, edging the Rangers by 10. Freeport (46 points) came in fifth and North Yarmouth Academy (40) placed sixth of the seven teams participating.

Falmouth took the junior 800 (1 minute, 45.65 seconds) senior 800 (1:36.67) and open 3,200 (9:02.37) relays. Individual winners included Will Wegener in the senior 200 (23.27 seconds) and the senior 55 (6.74), Jimmy Polewaczyk in the senior 400 (55.49), Jacob Buhelt in the junior 55 (7 seconds) and the 200 (24.24), Reid Pryzant in the senior 55 hurdles (8.3) and the triple jump (38 feet, 6.5 inches) and Andy Roukey in the junior high jump (5-2).

Greely’s first-place finishers included Jack Fellows in the senior shot put (51-1), Stefan Sandreuter in the 800 (2:07.9) and the two-mile (10:51.74), Sam Mason in the long jump (19-6.5), Alex Parenteau in the senior high jump (5-6), Liam Campbell in the mile (4:51.31), Matt Davis in the pole vault (10 feet).

Freeport got a win from Harrison Stivers in the junior 400 (57.76).

NYA’s Jake Burns was runner-up in the junior 55 hurdles (9.59).

In the girls’ competition, Greely ran away and hid with 279 points, while Falmouth was a distant second with 124. NYA (56 points) placed fourth, while Freeport (16 was seventh).

The Rangers won both the junior 800 (1:57.05) and senior 800 (1:54.6) relays and had 10 individual winners. Kirstin Sandreuter was first in the two-mile (12:17.68). Emily Christensen won the senior 55 (7.87) and the senior 200 (28.89). Jessica Wilson was tops in the 800 (2:27.0). Melissa Jacques won the senior 400 (1:06.72). Brennah Martin and Sarah Ingraham tied for first in the junior 55 (8.05). Abby Bonnevie won the pole vault (8 feet). Kaley Sawyer was first in the junior high jump (4-8) and Cassidy Storey was tops in the junior shot put  (31-10).

Falmouth’s Mary Catherine Kowalsky won the junior 200 (29.37), Kate Sparks captured the senior shot put (36-5) and Sarah Sparks was first in the junior 400 (1:06.23).

NYA captured the 3,200 relay (10:46.27).

Freeport’s Abby Roney was third in the senior 55 hurdles (10.79).

Yarmouth’s boys tallied 58 points in a six-team meet won by York (311). The Clippers got a win from Asa Arden in the long jump (19-2).

The Yarmouth girls came in sixth with 32 points. York won with 187. The top Clipper was Jocelyn Davies, who was runner-up in the senior high jump (4-6).

This Friday, Falmouth, Greely, NYA and Yarmouth compete in the same meet, along with Cape Elizabeth, Fryeburg and Lake Region. Freeport goes up against Gray-New Gloucester, Traip, Wells and York.
