MAINE: Six days after defeating No. 3 Boston College 4-1 in Orono, Maine now aims to create some consistency as it heads into the heart of its Hockey East schedule. The Black Bears are 3-2 since Christmas break and this will be their last single-game weekend. Junior right wing Gustav Nyquist has an eight-game points streak and is the sixth-leading scorer in Hockey East with 26 points, ahead of teammate Spencer Abbott (24). Maine has already won the season series, by virtue of a two-game sweep of the Huskies in November at Alfond Arena.

NORTHEASTERN: The Huskies are 4-1 since the start of 2011 and have shut out their last two opponents — a 2-0 win last Saturday against Vermont and a 3-0 win Wednesday against Harvard — entering tonight’s game against the Black Bears. Officially, Northeastern has shut out its opponents in 130 minutes, 57 seconds over the past three games, with Chris Rawlings in goal for all three games. Senior forward Wade MacLeod is Northeastern’s leading scorer with 20 points, including eight points in his last seven games (five goals, three assists).

DID YOU KNOW? Of Northeastern’s 10 losses this season, six have been by one goal. Of the Huskies’ seven wins, only one has been by a goal.
