FALMOUTH — Josh Britten scored 35 points, including a 3-pointer with six seconds left in regulation to tie it, and Yarmouth went on to a 63-58 overtime victory against Falmouth in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game Tuesday night.

Falmouth (6-6) trailed 44-35 after three quarters, then rallied to take the lead with 15 seconds to go before Britten’s 3-pointer for the Clippers (10-3).

Britten scored three points in overtime and Matt Murphy, who finished with 12, added two.

Matt Packard led Falmouth with 23 points. Jack Cooleen scored 14 and grabbed 18 rebounds.

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 61, FREEPORT 45: Andrew Esancy scored 28 points as the Panthers (5-7) defeated the Falcons (0-13) at Yarmouth.

Mohamed Dahia added 10 points, and Eli Leavitt and Mike Ianno chipped in eight apiece for NYA.

Chandler Birmingham and Josh Weirich each had 12 points for Freeport.

 

YORK 50, WELLS 31: Aaron Todd scored 21 points and Thomas Kinton added 10 as the Wildcats (9-3) handled the Warriors (8-5) at Wells.

The Wildcats steadily pulled away after building a 14-9 lead in the first quarter.

Alex Furness led the Warriors with 13 points. Zach Deshaies and Paul McDonough had seven apiece.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 57, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 49: Adam Jensen scored 22 points, Nick Bennett added 15 and the Patriots (8-5) used a second-quarter rally to defeat the Raiders (2-12) at Gray.

It was the 400th career victory for Gray-New Gloucester Coach Tony DiBiase.

Bennett had seven points and Johnson added six during the 21-12 second-quarter run that put the Patriots ahead 28-20 at halftime.

Both had a pair of 3-pointers in the quarter.

Colby Locke had 20 points and Bright Amoako finished with 13 for Fryeburg.

LAKE REGION 58, POLAND 52: Kevin Gilson scored 31 points and was 9 of 9 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as the Lakers (3-9) rallied past the Knights (6-7) at Naples.

Lake Region trailed 29-27 after three periods, but helped by free throws scored 31 points in the fourth. The Lakers made 24 foul shots for the game.

Jake Littlefield scored 31 for Poland.

 

MARSHWOOD 57, NOBLE 43: Matthew Crosby had 26 points to help the Hawks (7-5) defeat the Knights (3-10) at South Berwick.

Jack Verrill and Addison Casey contributed nine points each for Marshwood.

Mitch Edmunds led Noble with 17.

 

BONNY EAGLE 66, PORTLAND 52: Steve Simonds had 15 points to lead a balanced offense for the Scots (8-4) against the Bulldogs (6-5) at Portland.

Dustin Cole, Travon Dandridge and Levi Meggison each scored 13 for Bonny Eagle, which led 38-22 at halftime.

Nate Smart led Portland with 13 points.

SOUTH PORTLAND 69, GORHAM 46: Vukasin Vignjevic scored 26 points as the Red Riots (10-2) downed Gorham (2-9) at South Portland.

Jordan Muller added 19 for the Red Riots, including 10 from the foul line.

Carter Bowers led the Rams with 22 points.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 57, A.R. GOULD 50: Jeff Taylor and Ryan Morse each scored 17 points as the Hawks (2-11) defeated the Bears (6-4) in overtime at South Portland.

Tyler Lyle added 12 points, including six straight in the fourth quarter to help the Hawks get to overtime.

Taylor also had 12 rebounds and four blocked shots, and Morse added three steals.

George Hopkins led A.R. Gould with 28 points.

 

WINDHAM 71, SCARBOROUGH 59: Nolan Allen powered a 10-0 fourth-period run that gave the Eagles (6-5) a 69-55 lead against Scarborough (7-6) at Windham.

Allen finished with 35 points, 25 in the second half. Drew Gagnon contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds for Windham. Dillon Russo scored 23 points and Kyle Kelley 11 for the Red Storm.

SANFORD 71, MASSABESIC 42: Jimmie Chaisson finished with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and Ryan Camire and Jon Schroder added 14 points each to lead the Redskins (3-9) over the Mustangs (0-11) at Sanford.

Alex Shain chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds for Sanford.

Ryan Dodge scored 14 points and Chris Gahm had 13 for Massabesic.

 

CHEVERUS 55, BIDDEFORD 41: Griffin Brady scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Stags (11-0) pulled away from the Tigers (4-7) at Biddeford.

Louie DiStasio added 11 points and Matt Cimino 10 for the Stags.

Robert Cote had 17 points and Mike Lachance finished with 10 for Biddeford, which got within 40-36 with five minutes remaining. Chance Baldino had nine points.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 55, KENNEBUNK 47: Andrew Shaw scored 16 points, Adam Ek added 12 and James Ek 11 for the Golden Trojans (9-3) against the Rams (2-10) at Kennebunk.

Vann Brazz had 23 points for Kennebunk, including 15 in the second quarter. Matt Dube finished with 13 points.

BOOTHBAY REGION 72, HALL-DALE 48: Dan Dickinson and Anthony DiMauro combined for 17 third-period points as the Seahawks (11-2) used a 23-12 run to open a 54-36 lead against Hall-Dale (5-7) at Boothbay Harbor.

Dickinson finished with 20 points, DiMauro 12 and Ben Dickinson 10 for Boothbay. Sam Shepard scored 13 for Hall-Dale.

 

DEERING 52, WESTBROOK 44: Labson Abwoch scored the first seven points and the Rams (8-4) went on to beat Westbrook (7-4) at Portland.

Deering, behind Jon Amabile’s 22 points, maintained a lead for the rest of the game.

Abwoch finished with nine points. Trevor Bates scored 14 and Nguot Ngout 13 for the Blue Blazes.

RICHMOND 68, HYDE 30: Sean Bernier scored 12 points to pace the Bobcats (10-1) against Hyde (2-6) at Richmond.

Michael Christie added 10 for Richmond.

HOCKEY

GORHAM 3, BONNY EAGLE 2: Elliot Gagne scored with four minutes left to lift the Rams (3-7) over the Scots (3-7) at Gorham.

Chris Hardy assisted Gagne. Blake Babineau and Steven Broy also scored for Gorham.
