FALMOUTH – Justin Murphy scored early in the second period Thursday night and Greely added two empty-net goals for a 3-0 victory against York in a game between the top two teams in Western Class B at Family Ice.

Murphy scored at 1:46 of the second period before Devyn Rogers and Kenny Richards added late empty-net goals for the top-ranked Rangers (10-0-1).

Matt Labbe stopped 29 shots by the second-ranked Wildcats (7-5) to earn his third shutout of the season.

CHEVERUS 2, BONNY EAGLE 1: Nic Lops had a goal and an assist to help the Stags (8-2) down the Scots (3-8) at Portland.

Tommy Sullivan scored first for Cheverus, followed by Lops, both in the first period. Cam Brown scored for Bonny Eagle in the second.

Max Boucher had 16 saves in the win.

Scots goalie Garrett McElrath made 25 saves.

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, LEAVITT 3: Austin Shields had two goals, and Vinny Dell’Aquila and Nick Breed also scored for the Capers (9-4) against the Hornets (4-7) at Portland.

Tyler Hutchinson had two goals for Leavitt.

NOBLE 4, DEERING 2: William Rodden had two goals to lead the Knights (8-1) over the Rams (3-7) at Portland.

David Sullivan and Dana Woodworth also scored for Noble.

Taylor Pye had a goal and an assist, and Denny Patenaude also scored for Deering.

Ben Haskell made 27 saves for the win. Jackson Stevens had 29 saves for Deering.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

GREELY 6, CHEVERUS 0: Shannon Donovan and Michaela Finnegan each scored twice for the Rangers (9-4-1) against the Stags (10-6) at Falmouth.

Paige Tuller assisted Donovan on her goals and also scored one.

CeCi Hodgkins assisted Finnegan on her goals. Meaghan Labbe also scored.

Greely goalie Maggie Bower stopped 11 shots.

Taylor Witham made 31 saves for Cheverus.

FALMOUTH 5, CAPE ELIZABETH-WAYNFLETE 0: Abby Payson and Moie Aaskov had a goal and an assist apiece to help the Yachtsmen (7-9) defeat Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (3-12) at Falmouth.

Alyse Bazinet, Lucy Meyer and Gabby St. Angelo also scored. Jen Greene (17 saves) and Kirsten Mazur (two saves) combined on the shutout.

WINSLOW 4, BRUNSWICK 0: Britany Whitaker scored twice, and Jen Poulin had a goal and an assist to lead Winslow (9-1-3) past the Dragons (7-8-1) at Brunswick.

Jess Addy also scored and Jessica Cain made 30 saves for the shutout.

LAWRENCE 58, BRUNSWICK 49: Spencer Carey and Xaviere Scott combined for 44 points to lead Lawrence (8-7) over the Dragons (7-7) at Brunswick.

The Dragons rallied from a 24-11 halftime deficit to make it 29-29 in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs finished the quarter on an 8-2 run. Carey scored 11 of his 23 in the fourth.

WISCASSET 58, WINTHROP 43: Jordan Jones scored 15 of his 18 points in the second quarter as Wiscasset (11-3) pulled away from the visiting Ramblers (6-8).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

BRUNSWICK 67, LAWRENCE 14: Becky Champagne led a balanced offense with 13 points for the Dragons (10-4) against the Bulldogs (0-15) at Brunswick.

MASSABESIC 33, BIDDEFORD 30: Kayla Schneider scored 14 points, including two pivotal free throws down the stretch, as the Mustangs (4-8) defeated the Tigers (3-9) at Waterboro.

Emily Schatz added seven points for Massabesic. Keila Grigware had 16 points to pace the Tigers.

LISBON 46, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 40: Jessica Campell and Kelsey Linnell scored 13 points each as the Greyhounds (4-10) downed Monmouth Academy (5-9) in overtime at Lisbon Falls.

WISCASSET 38, WINTHROP 37: Becca Slack had 10 points as Wiscasset (2-11) held off the Ramblers (6-7) at Wiscasset.

DEERING 63, PORTLAND 44: Kayla Burchill scored 21 of her 25 points in the first half to help the visiting Rams (13-0) defeat the Bulldogs (3-10).

Ella Ramonas added 11 points for the Rams, who went ahead 37-17 with a 21-7 run in the second quarter.
