YARMOUTH – Josh Britten scored seven of his 21 points in the fourth quarter Friday night as Yarmouth held on for a 54-52 victory against York in a game between Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball contenders.

Chris Knaub added 10 points for Yarmouth (11-3), ranked fifth in Western Class B. The Clippers opened a 47-38 lead in the fourth quarter before the Wildcats (9-4), ranked fourth, rallied.

Aaron Todd paced York with 20 points. Liam Langaas added 14.

GORHAM 50, SANFORD 43: Carter Bowers scored 17 points, including four during a 15-8 run in the second quarter that gave the Rams (3-9) a 33-30 lead against Sanford (3-10) at Gorham.

Blake Speed added 10 points for Gorham. Ryan Camire scored 22 and Alex Shain 11 for the Redskins.

CAPE ELIZABETH 57, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 46: Theo Bowe scored 26 points for Cape Elizabeth (11-3) against the Patriots (8-6) at Gray.

The Capers led 34-22 at halftime before Gray-New Gloucester crept within 44-38 after three quarters. But Bowe hit a 3-pointer that helped Cape Elizabeth pull away again.

Joey Doane finished with 14 points for the Capers.

Adam Jensen led the Patriots with 26 points.

LAKE REGION 49, FREEPORT 38: Lake Region (4-9), behind Alex Hartford’s eight points and a 2-3 zone, used a 16-7 run in the third quarter to open a 38-27 lead against the Falcons (0-14) at Freeport.

Hartford finished with 19 points. Mitch Loeman scored 13 and Kyle Strozewski had 11 for Freeport.

THORNTON ACADEMY 70, NOBLE 60: Andrew Shaw scored 26 points and James Ek added 23 as Thornton Academy (10-3) downed Noble (3-11) at North Berwick.

Ek hit six 3-pointers and Shaw added four.

Mitch Edmunds led Noble with 13 points.

WESTBROOK 52, WINDHAM 41: Trevor Bates had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Blazes (8-4), who shot 10 of 14 from the line in the fourth quarter to down the Eagles (6-6) at Westbrook.

Westbrook rallied from a 27-21 halftime deficit to make it 34-34 after three quarters. The Blue Blazes took the lead early in the fourth and held the Eagles without a field goal in the quarter.

Ian King of Westbrook knocked down six free throws in the fourth to finish with 11 points. Nolan Allan had 18 points for Windham.

SCARBOROUGH 64, BONNY EAGLE 34: Steve Simonds had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Bonny Eagle (9-3), which took a 34-14 halftime lead and beat Scarborough (7-7) at Standish.

Cole Libby led the Scots with 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Levi Meggison added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Dustin Cole had six assists.

Zach Bean led Scarborough with 15 points.

MARSHWOOD 65, BIDDEFORD 54: Matthew Crosby and Jack Verrill combined for 23 points as the Hawks (8-5) cruised to a 40-21 halftime lead against the Tigers (6-8) at South Berwick.

Crosby finished with 22 points. Verrill had 18.

Chance Baldino led Biddeford with 15 points. Robert Cote and Mike Lachance each had 12.

GREELY 49, FALMOUTH 48: Nick Clark scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to help Greely (12-1) hold off the Yachtsmen (6-7) at Falmouth.

Clark hit a pair of free throws to give the Rangers a 49-45 lead. The Yachtsmen answered with a 3-pointer and a steal with less than a second to go, but missed a final desperation shot.

Tanner Storey led Greely with 12 points. Sam Johnston added 10.

Matt Packard scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to help Falmouth tie it after trailing 24-12 at halftime.

CAMDEN HILLS 106, MT. VIEW 64: Tyler McFarland scored 32 points, 26 in the first half, and Keegan Pieri added 22 for the Windjammers (14-0), who took a 63-32 halftime lead against the Mustangs (4-10) at Rockport.

McFarland also had nine rebounds.

Bobby Porter led Mt. View with 23 points.

WAYNFLETE 40, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 27: Mitch Newlin scored six points during a 12-5 run in the fourth quarter as Waynflete (8-5), taking advantage of foul trouble, pulled away from the Panthers (5-8) at Yarmouth.

Joe Veroneau led the Flyers with 12 points; Newlin scored 11. Asad Dahia scored 10 for NYA.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 60, SACOPEE VALLEY 19: Jason Dutton had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Seagulls (9-4) over Sacopee Valley (3-12) at Old Orchard Beach.

Dutton scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Seagulls, already leading 30-9 at halftime, opened it to 54-17.

Ryheem Lang added 11 points for Old Orchard.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 60, GARDINER 55: Isaac Greenrose scored 15 points as the Panthers (11-3) beat the Tigers (10-4) at Waldoboro.

Shane Osier added 12 points, and Alex Greenrose and Isaac Durkee each had 10 for Medomak Valley.

Mike Trahan had 19 points and Jake Palmer 17 for Gardiner.

WELLS 74, TRAIP ACADEMY 58: Paul McDonough scored 25 points and Alex Furness added 22 as the Warriors (9-5) handled the Rangers (7-7) at Kittery.

McDonough had four 3-pointers and Furness hit two for Wells, which outscored Traip 27-17 in the first quarter.

Nathan Westman scored 13 points and Alencio Martin 11 for Traip.

EDWARD LITTLE 56, MESSALONSKEE 29: Bo Leary scored 23 points to lead the Red Eddies (13-1) over Messalonskee (5-9) at Auburn.

Edward Little led 36-11 at the half.

Justin Meader had six points for Messalonskee.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 41, LISBON 32: Roger Bachelder scored 10 points to lead the Mustangs (10-4) over the Greyhounds (0-14) at Lisbon Falls.

Tim Whitmore added eight points for Monmouth. Toby Harrington led Lisbon with 12.

MT. BLUE 70, MORSE 15: Cam Sennick and Adam Wiles-Rosell each had 14 points as the Cougars (12-2) beat the Shipbuilders (0-14) at Farmington.

Eric Berry scored 12 points, Chad Luker had eight rebounds, and Steve Yardley added seven points and six steals for Mt. Blue.

HOCKEY

FRYEBURG ACADEMY/LAKE REGION 2, WESTBROOK 1: Tyler Hill broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal at 12:55 of the second period and Tyler LeGoff made 31 saves to help Fryeburg/Lake Region (3-8) edge Westbrook (2-10) at Bridgton.

Alex Benson gave the Blue Blazes the lead just 18 seconds in, but Don Kellough answered for the Ice Cats at 5:31 of the first.

Kellough also helped set up Hill’s winner. Tyler Harnden assisted on both goals.
