NAPLES — Tiana-Jo Carter had 20 points, 26 rebounds and eight blocks to help Lake Region earn a 46-42 victory over Greely in a Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball game Monday night.

Lake Region (12-2) held a 31-29 advantage after three quarters and broke it open with a 9-2 run in the first two minutes of the fourth.

Hannah Cutting chipped in seven points and nine rebounds for the Lakers, who moved ahead of Greely into fourth place in the Western Class B Heal point standings.

Megan Coale and Caroline Hamilton scored 13 points apiece for Greely (11-3).

 

WINDHAM 56, NOBLE 48: Meghan Gribbin scored 23 points and Diandra Berthiaume added 11 to lead the Eagles (9-4) past the Knights (2-12) at North Berwick.

Windham used a 14-8 third-quarter run to take a 40-29 lead, then shot 11 of 11 from the free-throw line in the fourth to put it away. The Eagles were 21 of 26 from the line overall.

Chandler Waterman scored 14 points for Noble. Ariel Thibeau added 10.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 37, BIDDEFORD 34: Meghan Agger scored eight of her 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Golden Trojans (5-9) rallied from an 18-10 halftime deficit against the Tigers (4-10) at Saco.

Lauren Titus helped direct Thornton Academy’s offense during the comeback, and Hannah Ebling added five fourth-quarter points, including the final two free throws with 10 seconds left.

Keila Grigware scored 16 points for Biddeford.

BOOTHBAY 43, GEORGES VALLEY 40: Megan Smith finished with 13 points and Sarah Caron added 12 as the Seahawks (7-8) held off the Buccaneers (8-7) at Boothbay Harbor.

Kennadi Grover paced Georges Valley with 16 points.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

A.R. GOULD 66, PINE TREE ACADEMY 29: Steve Lyons and George Hopkins combined for 36 points to help the Bears (8-5) down the Breakers (1-14) at Freeport.

Hopkins scored eight of his 17 points in the first half as A.R. Gould took a 38-18 lead.

Brandon Clement added 12 points for the Bears. Tim McGuire led Pine Tree with 16.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

NOBLE 8, CHEVERUS 3: Dana Woodworth had three goals and two assists to lead the Knights (10-1) past the Stags (8-4) at Rochester, N.H.

Jesse Cotty added a goal and three assists, and William Rodden had a goal and two assists to reach 100 career points.

Harry Ridge had a goal and an assist for Cheverus.

 

DEERING 3, MASSABESIC/OOB 2: Conner Petropoulos scored a power-play goal on a slap shot from the point with 3:57 left in overtime to lift the Rams (4-7) over the Mustangs (4-8) at Portland Ice Arena.

Deering’s Ari Hymoff tied the game with 4:59 remaining in regulation.

Jordan Levesque got Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach on the board in the first period. Petropoulos and Nick Vigue traded goals in the second.

Jackson Stevens earned the win with 29 saves. Kyle Maclay stopped 46 shots for the Mustangs.
