PORTLAND — The impending snowsotorm led Portland police to postpone Wednesday’s analysis of crime in 2010 and the presentation of a five-year strategic plan.

The review, which was to take place on the campus of the University of S has been postponed until March, though no date has been set.

The Portland Police Department will give a public overview of crime statistics from 2010, while also presenting the vision for the department in the coming five years.

The presentation will be held at the Wishcamper Center at the University of Southern Maine from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

The year in review will include a statistical analysis of crime trends showing increases and decreases in certain types of crimes and in certain locations. The presentation also calls for unveiling the department’s five-year strategic plan.

Chief James Craig said it is the department’s first strategic plan. He has said previously that short-term goals include forming a crime suppression team and working more closely with federal agencies to curtail gang activity.
