PORTLAND — Nicolette Kapothanasis sparked a big first half that carried Portland to a 60-52 victory over South Portland in an SMAA girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

Kapothanasis scored 18 of her 34 points in the first half as the Bulldogs (5-12) built a 27-13 lead.

Danielle DiBiase had 12 of her 18 points in the second half for the Red Riots (11-6) and Danica Gleason scored 10.

 

WAYNFLETE 46, WELLS 41: Lydia Stegemann had 21 points to help the Flyers (14-3) beat the Warriors (8-9) at Wells.

Rhiannon Jackson and Martha Veroneau combined for 22 points in the second half to help the Flyers (14-3) erase a 19-14 halftime deficit.

Wells was paced by Kelsey Bragdon, who had 16 points.

 

GREELY 28, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 24: Megan Coale scored seven points and the Rangers (14-3) built a six-point lead in the fourth quarter and held off the Patriots (10-7) at Gray.

Gray-New Gloucester cut the deficit to 27-24 with just under a minute left on a 3-pointer by Sammie Wilkins. Haylee Cote had 10 points to pace the Patriots.

 

TRAIP ACADEMY 44, NYA 38: Selena Lorrey scored seven of her 17 points as Traip (10-6) went on a 14-2 fourth-quarter run to rally past the Panthers (9-8) at Yarmouth.

Blair Haggett paced NYA with 15 points and Morgan Scully added 13.

 

SANFORD 50, NOBLE 38: Shae Riley scored five of her 14 points to lead an 8-0 second-quarter run as the Redskins (13-4) broke a 22-all tie and beat the Knights (2-15) at North Berwick.

Chandler Waterman scored 12 points for Noble.

 

GORHAM 58, WINDHAM 43: Mia Rapolla scored 11 of her 27 points in the fourth quarter as the Rams (14-3) pulled away from the Eagles (10-7) at Gorham.

Alyssa Clark chipped in 11 points for Gorham, which outscored Windham 18-8 in the fourth quarter.

Windham was led by Meghan Gribbin, who made six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points.

 

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 44, ACADIA CHRISTIAN 28: Suzie Gonzalez scored 10 points to lead Greater Portland Christian (11-4) over Acadia Christian (0-11) at Trenton.

Brianna Springer led Acadia with 26 points.

BIDDEFORD 55, KENNEBUNK 24: Keila Grigware had 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists, leading Biddeford (6-11) past the Rams (0-17) at Kennebunk.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 66, SCARBOROUGH 38: Hannah Ebling scored 22 points and the Golden Trojans (8-9) beat the Red Storm (5-12) at Saco.

Brittany Bona had 16 points for the Red Storm.

 

YORK 60, FALMOUTH 22: Chelsea Morley had 18 points and Nicole Taylor scored 17 as the Wildcats (17-0) cruised to a 35-8 halftime lead and won at Falmouth (8-9).

Jess DiPhilippo led the Yachtsmen with seven points.

 

WESTBROOK 44, BONNY EAGLE 32: Katelyn Benson scored 17 points as the Blue Blazes (5-12) beat the Scots (7-10) at Westbrook.

Jessica MacDonald led the Scots with eight points.

 

FREEPORT 52, POLAND 35: Leigh Wyman scored 10 points and Morgan Brown grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Falcons (6-11) over the Knights (2-15) at Freeport.

LAKE REGION 53, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 28: Sydney Hancock scored 12 points as the Lakers (15-2) handled the Raiders (5-12) at Naples.

Skye Dole and Brenna Gerchman each had seven points for Fryeburg.

 

MASSABESIC 46, MARSHWOOD 41: Kayla Schneider had 15 points to lead the Mustangs (7-10) over the Hawks (7-10) at Waterboro.

EDWARD LITTLE 51, MT. ARARAT 34: Ashlee Arnold had 22 points to power the Red Eddies (14-3) past the Eagles (8-9) at Topsham.
