AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage announced today that he is nominating Chandler Woodcock of Farmington to lead the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and Cheryl Russell of Chester to lead the Department of Labor.

LePage did not announce his nominee for the Department of Education, saying that the state Board of Education needed to weigh in first.

Woodcock, 61, is a former Republican state senator who ran for governor in 2006. Russell, 52, is a business owner and consultant.

Both nominees will now be reviewed by legislative committees and face a Senate vote.
