Bonny Eagle High School, Standish: Thirty students were recently inducted into the National Honor Society.

New members from Buxton are: Kelsey Bulger, Samantha Cox, Ashley Crane, Paige Emery, Marley Harmon, Alexis Pinkham, Connor Shields, Ian Smith, Todd Thompson and Amanda Wallace.

Also at Cheverus High School: Senior Kelly Thomas, a senior from Standish, placed first in the Varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate division of the Maine Forensic Association State Championships on Jan. 29. Senior Aubrey Haskell of Portland placed fourth, and the Cheverus Debate Team placed third in the team sweepstakes.

 

Catherine McAuley High School, Portland: Based on High School Placement Test results, Catherine Call, daughter of Michael and Carol Call of Scarborough, and Katherine Hodgdon, daughter of Kenneth and Terry Hodgdon of Westbrook, have been awarded the school’s Academic Excellence Scholarship. Both are incoming freshmen and will each receive $25,000 over the course of four years at McAuley.
