BRUNSWICK — Ralph W. Labbe, 98, died peacefully Feb. 18 at his home with his daughter Prisca by his side.  

Born in Biddeford on Jan. 20, 1913, the older son of Frank and Ernestine (Pruneau) Labbe, he graduated from Biddeford High School in 1932.

In 1935 he married his high school sweetheart, Madeline Paquin. They were married for 64 years until her death in 1999.

During World War II he served with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves in Hampton, N.H.  

For 25 years he worked as a salesman for Field Enterprises, Inc.

He loved traveling by trains, was an avid reader, and loved classical music.

He was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club and has been a member of First Parish Church of Brunswick for the past 10 years.

His son, Bernard Labbe, predeceased him in 1982.  

Survivors include his daughters, Prisca Kenison and her husband Homer of Brunswick, and Mary Cuthbertson of North Conway, N.H.; eight grandchildren, David Patrick and his wife Marsha of Madison, Ala., Denis Patrick and his wife Joyce of Pomona, N.Y., Tony Cuthbertson of West Lebanon, N.H., and Emily Hofmann and her husband Matthew of North Chelmsford, Mass., and Thomas Delekto of Fayetteville, Ga., Dale Kenison and his wife Julie of Hobbs, N.M., Scott Kenison and his wife Linda of Londonderry, N.H., and Bruce Kenison and his wife Frances of Londonderry, N.H.; nine great-grandchildren, Kristyn and Brandon Patrick, Susanna Patrick, Jessica and Christopher Kenison, Christine and Jeffrey Kenison, and Erik and Aaron Kenison.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Joseph’s cemetery in Biddeford.

Arrangements are by Brackett’s Funeral Home of Brunswick.
